Compassionate Neighbours help local people in their community who need a bit of extra support because of poor health and social isolation.
“It feels good to be of service without any conditions attached, and to make connections with people in my community I might not otherwise meet.“
Grace, Compassionate Neighbour
Across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey our 150 trained Compassionate Neighbours are meeting up with people who are lonely and isolated and are living with a chronic illness by exploring their interests and finding out what’s going on around them.
The Compassionate Neighbours project is run by North London Hospice and is provided to the community free of charge. We are looking to recruit more Compassionate Neighbours so that we can increase the number of people that we are able to support.
Join our free training – via Zoom – and how you get involved after that is up to you. There are many options from visiting someone regularly to helping us develop our local connections. You can also support someone by calling them regularly if you aren’t comfortable meeting people face to face at the moment. For more details contact 020 8343 6805 or CN@northlondonhospice.co.uk
