Join us in celebrating the heroes who makes our work possible.
Every day at North London Hospice, heroes walk among us. Some wear capes, others wear scrubs, and many stand beside us – as friends, family and compassionate community members. So, on Sunday 18 May, we invite you to our annual Big Fun Walk so that together we can remember, honour and celebrate all of our wonderful hospice heroes.
For more than 20 years, you have been completing the challenging 10-mile walk, collectively raising over £1million to support our work. This year we are thrilled to be introducing our ‘Little’ Fun Walk. If the full 10-mile walk isn’t for you, why not try our brand new 5-mile route?
Every step you take, you’re giving families the gift of support, comfort, and peace when they need it most. You’re their hero.
We also want to celebrate the heroes behind the scenes – our hospice staff – who work tirelessly around the clock, providing exceptional end-of-life care to our community when they need it the most.
So, this year we invite you to dress up as your favourite superhero and walk alongside neighbours, colleagues, family and even furry friends as we are set to make Big Fun Walk 2025 our biggest and best year yet, where everyone is welcome.
Take photos, rediscover your love of London, become a tourist for the day, and challenge yourselves to walk through the city’s most famous landmarks, including breath-taking views of the city at the top of Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill. It’s a fun day out for everyone.
Give yourself a real sense of achievement and celebrate in style in the heart of Westminster where you’ll pick up your medal, listen to music and enjoy some well-earned refreshments. A Sunday well-spent!
Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one, in support of the care we provide, or just to help make a difference, this day is for you. Every step you take truly makes a difference.
New for 2025: meet up for solo walkers: This year, we’re trialling a meeting slot for solo walkers! If you’re walking on your own and would like to link up with others, join our wonderful volunteer, Susie, at 8:45am at the registration desk. She’ll be setting off at 9am sharp with anyone who fancies some company along the route.

Big or Little?
This year we are pleased to be offering two lengths of Big Fun Walk.
- Take on the full 10 mile route you know and love, starting at Cherry Treed Wood in Finchley and ending at the United Nations Green (outside the QEII Centre) in Westminster. Minimum sponsorship £40.
- Or choose the 5 mile ‘Little’ Fun Walk, also starting at Cherry Tree Wood in Finchley, but finishing at the top of Primrose Hill. From there, you’re invited to make your way to our events village in Westminster. Minimum sponsorship £25.

Under 16 – £20
Under 5 – free
We ask that all participants taking part in the Big Fun Walk 2025 raise a suggested minimum sponsorship of £40 per person for the full walk and £25 for the 5 mile walk.
All walkers will receive a wristband as part of their registration for the event and those that choose to, will receive a Big Fun Walk t-shirt. You will then collect your free lunch and goodie bag on the day.

Please be aware that any registrations made on or after 2 May, will need to collect their t-shirt from the registration desk on the event day along with your wristband, free lunch and goodie bag.

Your fundraising will ensure we can continue to provide free end-of-life care to more than 3,500 people living with a life-limiting illness in our North London Community, wherever they may call home.
By signing up to the Big Fun Walk 2025 and paying your registration fee, you agree to our terms and conditions.
When completing multiple registrations, please ensure that all participant details are accurate and avoid repeating the names or contact details of anyone already registered. All emergency contact details should be linked to people who will not be participating in the challenge event.
