While this year’s London Marathon has been postponed to October, are you training to take part in the race or do you aspire to one day run the most famous marathon in the world? We have the perfect virtual challenge for you.
From Sunday 19 April to Sunday 26 April, we are challenging our supporters to walk or run 26.2 miles crossing the virtual finish line on the original date of the 2020 London Marathon. This works out at roughly 3.3 miles / 5km a day over 8 days. Use a running machine at home, your garden or your local streets or park to clock up the miles over seven days!
It’s a great way to keep fit and raise money for North London Hospice, which has seen a huge drop in vital income to fund its services due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
How do I get involved?
It’s easy to take part – there’s no registration fee – but please let us know you’re taking up the challenge by filling in the form at the bottom of the page so that we can send you a welcome pack and a medal for your efforts once the challenge is completed!
Tracking your progress
To show that you have completed the challenge, you’ll need to track your progress and make a note or take a photo of the distance covered at the end of each session. Once you have completed your virtual marathon, please let us know and we will send you a medal in the post!
Apps such as Strava, MapMyWalk or MapMyRun, will help you track your distances or you can note down the distance you run or walk each day.
We look forward to celebrating with you at the virtual finish line! If you have any questions, please contact our Challenge Event Manager, Ryshel, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
