Permanent, Full time – Barnet / Enfield

Are you passionate about palliative care? Would you like to be part of something special and work with a dedicated nurse specialist team? Are you looking for a role that can support our vision for equal access to palliative care services across North London?

The North London Hospice has been providing palliative and end of life care for the communities of North London since 1984. We have an 18 bed in-patient unit providing hospice care for those with life limiting illnesses. There are three friendly community teams of specialist nurses, doctors, consultants, social workers and allied professionals who support individuals at home, in the 3 North London Boroughs of Barnet Enfield and Haringey. We also provide an overnight CNS service and have access to nurses and carers to support people at home.

The Post

This post involves working within a multi-disciplinary team offering specialist palliative care to patients in their own homes and our primary care clinics as well as virtually and over the telephone. All CNSs will have the opportunity to develop their skills to become non- medical prescribers and support is available for ongoing professional development. As a CNS you will have the opportunity to manage and mentor junior members of the team and participate and attend weekly in house training.

What are we seeking?

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly skilled individuals who are team players, dynamic, passionate about palliative care and understand the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist. Ideally you will have experience in specialist palliative care and/or Oncology and are an excellent communicator who really wants to make a difference.

A car owner and driver is essential. The role includes weekend work (Saturday or Sunday) and some rota patterns to cover a 08.00 -20.00 service.

In return, we offer:

  • NHS Pension Scheme membership is transferrable
  • Inner London supplement
  • NHS-aligned annual leave
  • Ongoing professional development, and support with revalidation
  • Fully-funded health cash plan
  • Workplace perks
  • Discounted cinema scheme, etc.

We are looking for a dynamic experienced individual who is productive and patient focused to ensure we deliver the best care to patients and their friends/family. So if this sounds like you, then please do get in touch.
