Interim Head of Communications, Marketing & Digital

(6 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience – 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about communications, marketing, and Digital and who recognises the importance of these core areas in improving our work and relationships.  If you want to make a difference and help shape the future of a local community-based charity that puts the care and wellbeing of patients and families at its heart, then this could be the position for you.

This is an interim role, created to support North London Hospice (NLH), develop our strategy for improved communications inside and outside the organisation.  You will be pivotal in supporting us reaching further into the communities we support and delivering on our income generation ambitions.

This is an exciting and challenging role, one which will require you to help us create and promote a culture of engagement, openness, collaboration, and innovation at our Hospice.  Working with the CEO, Executive Team and Board, we want you to work with all our staff and volunteers and help drive forward the best in communication, marketing, and digital opportunities.

You will devise strategy and a new brand awareness for Communications, Marketing and Digital across both our Corporate and Clinical teams and lead this area within our charity.  In this Interim role, you will help us shape and start to deliver on our dynamic and ambitious new strategic plan.    A strategic thinker you will see, and understand, the big picture and understand, too, the need to focus on results, impact, and outcomes. 

Key Priorities to Deliver –

• Develop and implement effective strategies to promote the full breadth of the NLH services and activities.

• Lead and oversee marketing and PR strategies for clinical services and income generation together with the development of new brand guidelines.

• Lead on developing and implementing communication strategies for growing and diversifying audiences across all areas of NLH reach.

• Lead on the digital strategy and channel management for NLH to include driving engagement on social media platforms.

Your support, insight, experience, forward-looking and innovative approach will support us in preparing for the challenges that lay ahead, designing, delivering, and leading, impactful and inspirational communications for staff (Clinical and non-Clinical) and volunteers as well as health and other professionals.

This is a big role, and we need someone with big ambition, drive and energy who will inspire, lead, and deliver on Communications, Marketing, and Digital – someone who will bring ideas but ensure they are anchored by our strategic focus and reflect our values.
