Big Fun Walk raises more than £170,000!

May 22, 2023

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part in Big Fun Walk 2023 on Sunday 21 May. The event was a huge success with 1346 participants raising over £170,000 so far.

James Breen, Fundraising Events Manager at North London Hospice said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in Big Fun Walk this year, helping raise vital funds for our patients. It was a lovely day and so nice to see so many people enjoying themselves. A huge thank you to our headline sponsor HSBC UK and our bronze sponsors SmartSec Solutions and Jigsaw Projects Ltd and thank you also to our fantastic team of staff and volunteers who supported us and helped to make the event such a success.”

Thank you to Madex Logistics for providing the event staging and Rogers Removals for transporting the event equipment. A huge thank you to all of our Big Fun Walk lunch supporters including YesChef who provided the fruit, Soho Sandwiches who provided the delicious sandwiches and Delice De France who provided the pastries.

Our raffle on the day at our post-walk reception at Central Hall Westminster raised over £1,200. A special thank you to our prize donors Fitblitz Gym, The Arsenal Foundation, Lynn McChambelle, Carrie Luxembourg, HOB Salons, Hotel Chocolat, Lakeland, Marks & Spencer, Regis Salons and Pam & residents from Everard Court.

Our iconic walk has become one of our most loved and talked about events, raising well over £1 million since it started. The 8.5-mile route takes participants through London’s most famous landmarks, including breath-taking views of the city at the top of Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill and is our flagship fundraising event.

North London Hospice provides care when and where it is needed most, free of charge to our patients and their loved ones. This doesn’t mean that it’s cost free though. Less than 40% of our costs are covered by the NHS and we still need to find millions of pounds each year to ensure our doors are open for those who need us 365 days a year.
