Peter’s 1000-Mile Walk For North London Hospice

Peter’s Incredible Challenge

North London Hospice supporter Peter Murray is proof that you’re never too old for a new challenge! At the age of 86 he has embarked on a 1000-mile walk to raise vital funds for patient care at the hospice that cared for his sister.

Throughout spring and summer 2021 Peter will walk three times a week in his local Enfield and Barnet community, clocking up the miles until he reaches his 1000 mile goal.

To embark on ONE 1,000 mile walk would be enough for most people, but this is Peter’s SECOND 1,000 mile walk in less than a year. In 2020, inspired by Captain Tom Moore, he walked the incredible distance for Whipps Cross Hospital in East London and has surprised friends and family by challenging himself to do it again.

“All three of my sisters received care in a hospice and I’ve seen the incredible support they provide to families so I knew I was going to do my next walk for North London Hospice – even before I’d finished the first one! – and I hope people will donate when they see me out and about or get inspired to take on challenges of their own. You’re never too old!”
