Community and Fundraising

We run many fundraising events throughout the year which give people from all walks of life the opportunity to get involved, have fun, and raise money for a great local cause, as well as helping extend our reach. Volunteers are vital to ensure that our events run smoothly, safely, and successfully. It is also important for us to connect with our communities, raising awareness of hospice care and lowering barriers to accessing our support. Volunteers may help in several ways:

Your help is welcomed on the day at events, for example, helping with route marshalling, preparing goody bags, being at a checkpoint, registering entries or supporting the team with their collection box holder scheme. Just let the volunteering team know at volunteer@northlondonhospice.co.uk and we’ll connect you with our fundraisers.

If you are applying for another role, you’ll have the chance to say if you’re happy to help occasionally at our community fundraising events when you complete an application. Just tick the box on the form.

If you’d like to help us to extend our reach by expanding our network and connecting us with the local community, raising awareness of the work of the hospice (and fundraising where relevant) you may be interested in our Hospice Ambassador role. It is a flexible opportunity you may fit round your busy life. If you let us know when you first get in touch, the volunteering team can direct you to the right place to find out more from the community development and fundraising teams.
