    Get Change Challenge

    A few forgotten pennies may not seem like much, but together they can add up to something extraordinary. Especially when added to the coins collected by others. Let's see how much change North London can collect together this August!

    This August, we're inviting you to join our Get Change Challenge.

    For more than ten years, our wonderful supporter Lilian and three friends have been meeting for their get together games of Kalooki. Over time, small amounts of change passed back and forth across the table – a few pennies here, a couple of pounds there. When they finally decided to count it all up, they discovered they had £50 in small change, so they decided to kindly donate it to North London Hospice.


    It got us thinking... what might be hiding at the bottom of your handbag or sports kit bag, in a kitchen drawer, or inside that giant bottle of coppers collecting dust on a shelf?


    Whether you're part of a games group or simply have a stash of forgotten coins at home, we'd love you to gather up your spare change and donate it to North London Hospice.


    The challenge couldn't be simpler:


    🪙 Save your loose change throughout August
    🪙 Rally your friends, neighbours or community group members to do the same.
    🪙 We have organised 5 Mondays in the month of August for you to drop off your coins: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August. 
    🪙 The drop off point will be at reception: 47 Woodside Avenue, London, N12 8TT.
    🪙 We'll do the counting and reveal the grand total!

    We'd love to hear from you and can provide a collection tin or bucket to help you gather donations.


    We know that times are tough and many people have less to spare than they once did. But that's exactly why this challenge is all about the little things. A few forgotten pennies may not seem like much on their own, but together they can add up to something extraordinary.


    So have a rummage in the car, check under the sofa cushions, empty out that old money jar and see what you can find. You might be surprised by how quickly the coins add up.
