Simple, No-Cost Insurance Claims Support Our Care

Did you know that if you have private health insurance, you may be able to make a simple claim to support hospice care at no cost to you?

Many insurance policies include a hospice benefit that can be claimed when a patient is receiving care, either on our Inpatient Unit or through our community services. These claims are straightforward to arrange and, with your consent, we can manage the process on your behalf.

Importantly, making a claim does not affect your care in any way. However, it can make a meaningful difference to the services we provide, helping us continue to offer compassionate, specialist care, free of charge to everyone who needs it.

    Why consider making a claim?

    •    It costs you nothing
    •    It only requires one simple consent form
    •    If you have eligible cover, you are entitled to use it
    •    It’s a practical and often overlooked way to support hospice care

    A family’s experience

When Valerie was cared for on our Inpatient Unit, she and her family were aware that her private health insurance policy included a hospice benefit. Valerie chose to make a claim as a way of giving something back. Her daughter Stephanie shared:

I was delighted to be able to help the organisation taking such good care of my mum. We were able to support a significant charitable gift just by claiming what we felt was rightfully the hospice’s, and it brought my mum genuine joy knowing that she could show her appreciation, given how thankful she was.

For Stephanie, it brought comfort and connection during a difficult time, knowing that her family’s claim would help other families receive the same level of care.

    An entirely optional choice

Conversations about insurance benefits are always gentle and entirely optional. Where appropriate, we may simply ask whether you are aware of what your policy covers. There is no obligation, no pressure and no impact on the care you receive.
