What to donate
There are 20 North London Hospice shops throughout Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington and Camden. We look forward to welcoming you to shop or donate preloved goods soon. Your support helps fund our specialist end of life care, and helps the planet by reducing the amount that goes to landfill.
Scroll down for shop locations and opening hours and for guidance on items we will be glad to receive.-Thank you for your continued support. Our shops provide almost £1 million in income that helps support end of life and palliative care for more than 3500 patients each year.
Donating Goods
We welcome donations of good quality preowned goods, that can be delivered to any of our shops during opening hours. Items of particular interest include:
- Adult & children’s clothing, bags & shoes
- Jewellery
- Crockery and glassware
- Small electrical goods
- Records, DVDs & CDs
- Toys with CE label
- Books
- Furniture (at our High Barnet & North Finchley furniture shops)
Domestic upholstered furniture and furnishings, may only be accepted where they comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, as amended, including the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 2025. Items must have a legible permanent fire safety label attached, normally headed “CARELESSNESS CAUSES FIRE”, unless a specific exemption applies.

Donating furniture - free collections
Do you have furniture that you'd like to give to charity?
From tables and chairs to shelving units and small electrical items, as long as your items are in a saleable condition, your donation could help us to raise vital funds for the hospice.
Free clothing and homeware collections
In addition to furniture collections, which can be booked online, we also offer free clothing and homeware collections for those unable to donate their items in person.

Items we cannot accept in our shops
We will always try to sell items that have generously been donated to us. However, there are occasions when we cannot accept some items due to legal and health and safety reasons. We kindly ask that the following items are not donated to our shops:
- Medicines – whether unopened or part used
- Part-used medical or clinical equipment/consumables (e.g., opened packs of incontinence pads)
- Car seats
- Helmets
- Second-hand sporting or sporting safety equipment
- Children’s equipment
- Chipped/cracked items
- Broken items
- Upholstered furniture or furnishings without a legible permanent fire safety label, where the item is required to have one

Gift Aid
We can claim an additional 25% on the sale price of your items at no cost to you. Simply fill in our Gift Aid form and pin it to your donation. You can also sign up for Gift Aid and print out donation labels in store by using one of the Gift Aid tablets in our shops.

Join our team
Our shops provide vital income for our charity, enabling us to provide the best of life, at the end of life, for everyone. Our Retail Department are often looking for candidates with a retail background to join the team.
