A Marathon Effort
With our London Marathon runners now, hopefully, feeling a little more themselves again, we are delighted to share that, so far, they have collectively raised over £75,000 and that figure is still growing.
It was a magical day on Sunday in the capital, as 18 people donned their North London Hospice vests and took to the streets with some 60,000 runners to complete the iconic 26.2 mile route.
Congratulations to our wonderful staff runners - Wolfie Smith, who has raised nearly £2,500, Suraj Joshi who ran with his brother Tilak and have raised over £3,700 (with matched fundraising from Tilak's company to come) and Ollie Lee from Arc, who after getting injured last year was able to make a comeback this year, raising over £3,200
“Shout out to your cheer squad on the embankment on Sunday. Small but mighty! They really made themselves heard when they saw me in my NLH vest!!” Hospice London Marathon runners
Our top fundraisers are Beth Rigby from Sky News, who for the second year in a row ran in memory of her friend Laura and raised more than £6,000, bringing her total raised for us in the last two years to over £24,000 and Fiona Sullivan, who ran in memory of her mum and has raised nearly £7,000.
A huge thanks to the staff and volunteers who joined us at our three cheer points at Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Temple/Blackfriars.
Some of the feedback received since is included below. Thank you everyone for your marathon efforts!
“Thank you so much for the support it was amazing form the whole team at the North London Hospice!!”
