Don't leave hospice care to chance

This week is Hospice Care Week and we're joining together with other UK hospices to raise awareness of why hospice care must be there for everyone, now and in the future.

This week, we're joining hospices across the UK in marking Hospice Care Week 2026; a chance to celebrate the compassionate, expert care that helps people live as well as possible, right up to the end of life.

The campaign also highlights the reality that access to hospice care - and the funding that makes it possible - is too often determined by postcode and circumstance rather than need - something that must urgently change.

Together, we're helping to raise awareness of why hospice care must be there for everyone, now and in the future with the message 'Don't Leave Hospice Care to Chance'.

At North London Hospice, hospice care is about so much more than medical support. It's about helping people find comfort, dignity, connection and joy, whether they're receiving care at home, in our Inpatient Unit or through our wellbeing services.

Every day, our teams support patients and families through some of life's most challenging moments. From nurses and healthcare assistants to therapists, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, bereavement support workers, retail staff, fundraisers, volunteers and colleagues working behind the scenes, it takes a whole community to make our care possible.

So this Hospice Care Week we are taking the opportunity to recognise the extraordinary difference that hospice care makes. Through the dedicated skill, kindness and commitment of our clinical teams, thousands of people each year receive the care and support they need when it matters most.

Here are just a few words from members of our community about the difference that care has made to them.
