North London Hospice expands into Camden with opening of 20th shop!
North London Hospice Opens Its 20th Shop!
We are very proud to have just opened the doors of our newest and 20th charity shop, right in the heart of one of North London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods – and close to Camden Town underground station at 9 Parkway, London NW1 7PG.
The launch represents an exciting new chapter for us as we also expand our free patient and family services into the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. The Worshipful, the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Eddie Hanson, was delighted to cut the ribbon at the grand opening this morning, officially declaring the store open and welcoming the hospice into the community.
As he opened the store, The Mayor told onlookers that he understood the hospice’s vision, adding: “I’m a huge supporter of North London Hospice and the incredible work it has been doing since 1984. I would like to thank the volunteers, staff, trustees, and executive team for their dedication, as well as the generous donors whose continued support makes this vital work possible. We are so grateful that you’ve chosen to be part of the Camden community - a place where people from all walks of life come together. We’re especially proud that your charity is the first multi-faith hospice, reflecting the diversity and inclusivity that truly matter. North London Hospice is a home for everyone, regardless of background, appearance, or language. We hope the whole community will continue to support this wonderful charity, and we wish you every success as you grow and open even more sites in the future!’’
Offering a light and bright shopping space, the store is a friendly and welcoming place where people come not just to shop, but to support a cause that matters. The Camden store will play a vital role in funding the free care and support we provide every day to people across North London to those living with or facing an end-of-life diagnosis. As the cost of delivering specialist palliative and end-of-life care continues to rise, the hospice depends upon income from donations and sales at its shops to help fund the services that patients and families rely on.
Commented Camden store manager Daniela Singh, “We’re delighted to open our 20th shop here in Camden – this is truly an exciting milestone for us! This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our fantastic team who have been working hard to open new stores this year to help fund our free hospice care for North London residents. We’d especially like to thank our generous local community for their kind donations. We’re looking forward to discovering all that Camden has to offer, getting to know our new neighbours and becoming become part of this vibrant area. Offering carefully selected, high-quality pre-loved fashion, books and homewares, everyone is welcome and our shop is a great place to find both items and prices that you’ll love. This is just the beginning, and we’re looking forward to sharing our events and community initiatives with you in the months ahead.”
