Get Change Challenge raises more than £500!

For more than ten years, wonderful Lilian and three friends have been meeting for their get together games of Kalooki. Over time, small amounts of change passed back and forth across the table – a few pennies here, a couple of pounds there. When they finally decided to count it all up, they discovered they had £50 in small change, so they decided to kindly donate it to North London Hospice.

Lilian decided to take this to the wider community and throughout August £500.63 was collected in loose change. As the famous marketing slogan reads, every little helps!

Lilian Cordell said: “I am thrilled with the response to our Get Change Challenge where we raised over £500 for North London Hospice! These donations were from loose change that people had in their wallets and around their homes. It just goes to show how small amounts can add up over time.

“Imagine if more people came together across north London and cleared out their change – it could make a real difference to this wonderful charity. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated – this will go towards patient care and we are so grateful.”
