    The North London Hospice Sunflower Growing Competition Is Back! Spread a little sunshine by growing a cheerful sunflower and by buying our seeds to help the hospice. Will yours be the tallest in North London?

    Ready, set… grow!

    It’s time to dust off your gardening gloves, channel your inner Monty Don and see if you can grow the tallest sunflower in North London!

    You can pick up your sunflower seeds from any of our North London Hospice shops, or from our lovely Hospice Café in Finchley.

    When your own sunflower starts showing off, snap a photo and email it to fundraising@northlondonhospice.co.uk, making sure to include the height measurement so we can officially enter you into the competition.

    Final measurements must be sent in by 1 September.

    Think you’ve got what it takes?

    See if you can beat last year’s champion, Janet, who grew her sunflower to an incredible 96 inches! She even wrote this wonderful poem about her prize-winning bloom:

    In North London’s hospice garden fair,
    Janet Johnson’s sunflower stood with flair.
    She named him Den, a towering friend,
    Whose golden face reached skyward’s end.

    At ninety-six inches, tall and bright,
    Den claimed the crown, a wondrous sight.
    With roots of care and love to lend,
    Janet and Den won, joy without end.
