Race the Neighbours

North London Hospice is the Proud Host of Race the Neighbours

North London Hospice was thrilled to become the official host of the brilliant Race the Neighbours community fun run in 2024. The 10km route takes in some of the most scenic parts of East Finchley and Muswell Hill, with spectacular views over London.

People from all fitness levels take part in this friendly local run, with a pinch of neighbourhood rivalry thrown in for good measure with participants racing against neighbouring postcodes. In joining fellow North London Runners, the event raises vital funds for the hospice.

First Year Success!

This is the first year that North London Hospice has taken on the organisation of the perennially popular community event, and it was wonderful to see so many people take part. The event was at full capacity with the maximum 500 runners registered to participate. There was a real buzz in the air as everyone gathered at Cherry Tree Woods on the morning of Sunday 30 June to warm up and race against neighbouring North London postcodes. The coveted Cherry Tree Cup was won by N10 (Muswell Hill) with their runners impressively completing the 10K course in an average of 55 minutes.

Runners of all ages were delighted to be back in the race again with many who have been taking part every year, racing alongside runners new to the event. Since 2015, East Finchley and Muswell Hill have won the Cherry Tree Cup three times, and Highgate were the most recent winners in 2022 and 2023.

The hospice would like to thank everyone who took part and especially to the 60 volunteers without whom the day would not have been possible. Together a fantastic £22K was raised to help deliver support to patients needing end-of-life care.
