Sow a Special Sunflower

This summer sees the return of our wonderful ‘Sow a Special Sunflower’ event in the garden of our hospice in Finchley.

An opportunity for the families and friends of our patients and supporters to dedicate a wooden sunflower marker to someone special and plant it in our garden at a special event on Sunday 25 June.

This year we are bringing back the sunflowers, not only in the hospice garden in Finchley but also with a virtual sunflower garden online. You can make a dedication to a loved one here, adding a personal message and photo, and watch as our virtual garden grows. Each virtual dedication will also receive a wooden sunflower marker, with the name of  your special person handwritten on each one.

The sunflower has been adopted by hospices across the world as the symbol of hospice care, with the seed representing the patient and the petals representing love, care, and compassion.

If you choose to make a dedication this year, you are invited to join us at our Sow a Special Sunflower celebration event (at 47 Woodside Avenue, N12 8TT) on Sunday 25 June between 2-4pm, to view your sunflower and enjoy tea, coffee and cakes.

All the sunflowers will be on display in the hospice gardens until the end of July, but we are unable to allow public access to the garden at any time apart from Sunday 25 June.

You do not need to donate in order to dedicate a sunflower, but we hope you will consider doing so. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so here. Please reference Sow a Special Sunflower and the name of the person your dedication is for.
