Supporting you at home

We are a specialist team of healthcare professionals working in the community – nurses, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists – who are employed by North London Hospice. Our work complements that of GPs, district nurses, social services and hospital teams. We offer expert support and advice to a patient’s family and carers.

Community service expansion

During 2021/22 our community teams provided specialist palliative care for 2462 patients in their own home, including care homes, and carried out a total of 44,835 visits.

Community nurse specialists

Our specialist team of community nurses are experts in palliative care. They visit patients in their own homes (including nursing homes) and are responsible for carrying out initial assessments of all community patients referred to North London Hospice.

Palliative care support service

Our Palliative Care Support Service (PCSS) can provide short-term hands-on care at home by specially trained nurses and health care assistants.

Macmillan specialist care at home

Macmillan Cancer Support is working in partnership with North London Hospice in Barnet and Enfield to trial a new way of working called Macmillan Specialist Care at Home that builds on North London Hospice Specialist Community Team service.
