North London Hospice has joined a community led (N3 & N12) pollinator project called Buzz Stops, organised by volunteers of Sustainable Finchley. The main objective is to increase the number of pollinator-friendly plants growing across N3 and N12 in public and semi-public places, helping boost biodiversity by growing flowers that provide food for bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and beetles.
Along with 20 other organisations, we signed up to receive a donation of locally grown plants, which volunteer gardeners Pam and Kelvin have planted in the gardens that surround our Head Office in Finchley.
We’ve also adopted the ‘No Mow May ‘ initiative that encourages leaving lawns to grow – helping wildlife, tackling pollution and keeping carbon below ground.
